A brand is the idea or image of a specific product or service that consumers connect with, by identifying the name, logo, slogan, or design of the company who owns the idea or image. In this way, "branding" is when that idea or image is marketed so that it is recognizable by more and more people, and identified with a certain service or product when there are many other companies offering the same service or product.

Step 1. Analyze the company and the market: How? SWOT analysis!
What are the company's strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats? All this information will help you to determine what are the goals and the steps needed to reach your goals.
Step 2. Determine key business goals: The brand identity should help fulfill these goals. For example, if an automaker is pursuing a niche luxury market, its ads should be crafted to appeal to that market and should appear on channels and sites where potential customers are likely to see them.
Step 3. Determine the personality and message it wants to communicate: What does the company want its market to perceive? A company needs to create a consistent perception, rather than trying to combine every conceivable positive trait: utility, affordability, quality, nostalgia, modernity, luxury, flash, taste and class. All elements of a brand should be in line with each other and deliver a coherent message.
Absolutely, build a brand identity is a strategic effort, and every element needs to support the overall message and business goals.
