Small Business Branding

While big businesses often have multiple decision makers with very specific ideas and guidelines to keep their existing brands consistent, smaller companies are usually more open to exploring new creative directions. Check the following ideas and think out the box!

These craft beer cans from German brewery AND UNION balance minimal design with a complex, unexpected texture. The team at AND UNION designed the unique cans in-house with the goal of breaking through the idea that only cheap beers come in cans.

3) Qoñi

This small artisan community in Peru was branded head-to-toe by Leo Burnett Design, the design department of Leo Burnett's Canadian branch.  
"We created the brand’s identity from top to bottom, giving it a name, wordmark, brand story, lookbook, promotional material, and retail tags," the Leo Burnett team writes on their website. "Qoñi, meaning warmth in the region's native language, was perfectly suited to the brand’s line of cozy alpaca goods."

1. Keep it simple. The idea is that people can read your contact details clearly. Don´t forget! Less is more. 2. Include just the basic info: Name, Job Title, phone number, website and e-mail. If you want to add more information as your services for example, use icons or infographics. 3. Do a design that fits with your brand! Use the logo and colours for your company. Keep the same brand´s image is the key. For the rest of the content use a clear or light typography (Eg. Calibri, Arial, Myriad, etc,). Just remember use one typography family, don´t mix them. If you need to make "highlights" play with the Regular and the Bold version or with the size. Finally, think about both sides, you don´t have to put more text on the back. You can use a texture, Infographics, photos, icons or just your logo! Check the following examples :)
